Food: Still at 3 nursings a day, but I'll drop one this coming month so she'll just get morning and bedtime. We are still practicing with the sippy, but she's not buying it yet. Reed was the same way until I gave him water through a straw. Then he was all over using his own cup.

Mel pretty much eats what we eat now. I'm trying more and more foods (much to the aggravation of my husband) that aren't super soft, and she's doing great! She did apple like a champ. It's amazing what babies can do if you just let them try.

 

Sleep: Sleeping a consistent 12 hours a night (YAY) and taking two naps a day around 1.5 hours each.

Temperament: You know what I'm going to say. She's our sunshine! Very happy and independent. We were at church the other day planning for MOPS and I let her wander around the floor. She didn't make a peep the whole hour we were there! She just explored and entertained herself. Yes, she has her moments, like when she wants Mommy or is tired or hungry. But she's amazing!!

 

 

Melanie loves:

-Brother: More specifically, playing with what Reed is playing with, much to his frustration.

-Getting into whatever she can crawl to

New adventures: It has been a BIG month for Miss Mel!

-Crawling! She had been wanting to crawl for a long time, and rocked the army crawl for about a week before she finally figured it out. Now she is mobile and having such a great time! We are opening and closing doors and cabinets. She can even crawl up the step from the playroom and over the gate step.

Helping "organize" BB's pantry with brother

-Waving and saying "bye-bye":

-First tooth: Well, THREE WEEKS AGO I felt a little bump on her bottom gums. Finally, yesterday it broke through. I would say we would have a much happier baby now, however the next tooth is already on the way. I guess we are going to do this the hard way. Oh well!

-Clapping her hands: She loves celebrating by clapping her hands. Mostly when she is in her food chair. Adorable.

-Clicking her tongue: She has been working on this non-stop for about a week and LOVES doing it, especially when she has a big mouth full of yogurt. It's a little messy, but super cute.

-We are still in size 4 diapers and size 12 month clothes. She can wear some 18 months clothes already, but I'm thinking we will stay here a while now that she is crawling. She will be (hopefully) shedding a little of her baby fat.

-Saying "ma-ma-ma-ma": I'm calling it a win!
