We headed to our neighborhood pool last weekend to check it out. It's super close so we can walk there in no time. We were excited to get Reed in the water to see what swimming progress we could make. I would have loved to get him in swim lessons, but one of the hazards of living in Midland is things fill up fast and tend to have waiting lists. Reed, however, did not share our enthusiasm.

| Not as excited as you think even with his cool floaty vest. |

| Pool Babe! |
Yes, the water was a little cold, but he got used to it. He even had floaties to help. Also not excited about them. And when Wes was swimming around with him he was NOT amused. We have agreed that we need to go back a lot to get Reed used to the water. Hopefully it helps.

Mel, however, LOVED the water. She splashed and splashed in her cool boat.

| Happy girl with Daddy! |
The kids and I also had the chance to visit the Midland Children's Museum with a friend. It was a neat little place and Reed loved running around.
There were cool sculptures/statues out front that Reed liked.

| Reed loved the "cow" |

| A bear for Nana, her "favorite" |
The grocery store where Reed picked up all his favorite foods.
The 'Dino dig' outside. What kid wouldn't like digging around in the sand?
There was even a place for Mel. A big room full of squishy things to crawl on.
 |
| This was a mostly happy face. |
 |
| Reed enjoyed stomping around in here, too. |
Reed's favorite was the news desk. They have a camera pointed at the desk with a TV playback. He liked being able to see himself on TV.

I'll have to be a little more prepared next time. I brought the stroller for Mel but what I didn't realize is that it's a two story building. Reed kept going up and down the stairs which I couldn't brave with the stroller, and I was a little nervous about him going up and down alone. He did fine, but it's important to keep and eye on your kids, you know. I'll probably get Mel in the wrap next time we go so I can chase after Reed. Another not-so-easy thing about having more than one child. We had fun though!
One more summer fun activity is music class. A friend told us about this and being a band nerd I just had to do it. No pictures because wrangling two kids at music class is no picnic, especially when there's a lot of moving and shaking going on! But our
Musikgarten class is super fun! If only Reed was interested....he at least likes his music sticks and is sweet to share:
Enjoy!
