Melanie - 3 Months

Miss Personality

Height: 25 inches

Weight:  15 lb

Hair: Blonde

Eyes: Blue

Food: Exclusively breastfed and still loves eating. She still eats every 3 hours.

Sleep: We are so blessed with how well Melanie sleeps. She naps pretty much anywhere during the day, getting a couple good 2-3 hour naps. At night she is stretching it out and doing 5-6 hours at her longest.

Temperament: What an amazingly easy-going little girl. She fusses when she is tired or hungry or just wants to talk to someone. She LOVES to talk to people and interact. Mel is always smiling and cooing. God knew we would need a happy baby with busy Reed running around.

Melanie loves:
-Eating
-Sleeping
-Being held by Mommy
-Reed's kisses
-Smiling
-"Talking"
-Riding in the car
-Ceiling fans
-Getting her legs massaged
-Her pacifier

She loves to sleep

Beautiful eyelashes. They keep getting longer!

Zzzzzzz

All smiles

All the time

Seriously

Mel dislikes:

-Being burped
-Waiting to eat
-Being left "alone": she loves people and wants to see everyone and interact

This would be a "waiting too long to eat" fit

New adventures:
-First bottle: I had the opportunity to have dinner with a dear friend of mine this week. Reed was at his grandparents so I left Daddy in charge with a bottle ready. I was a little worried, but then he sent me a message saying she sucked it dry and promptly fell asleep. Way to go Mel! I'll have to get out more often.

-Size 2 diapers and size 6 month clothes. A growing girl!

Here is the side-by-side monthly chair pic:

I found the monkey this month!

Here's another sweet picture comparison. My brother and I here:

Jason - 19 months   Me - 3 months

And here is sweet Reed and Melanie:

Reed - 19 months    Melanie - 3 months
(and yes, that's the SAME dress I wore)
(and yes, they are the same amount apart as my brother and I, almost to the day)

Enjoy!

The Mess in the Room: Showing a house with little ones

Showing a house when you have 2 under 19 months is a little short of insane, but do-able. Here are some tips to make it a little easier:

1. Laundry basket or box to throw random stuff in: this is a great one! I seriously just threw tons of random stuff that was laying around the house in here and put it in the car when we were ready to go.

2. Keep some toys in your car if you don't already have some: these are great for your kiddos to play with so they're not completely upset about being taken away from whatever they were doing in the house.

3. Load the car prior to the showing so you don't have to do it while you're trying to get kids ready and out the door: I tried to have everything as close to ready as possible so I could put it in the car about 30 minutes early. That way I just needed to get kids ready and in the car. (We were showing our house in the winter, so just going for a walk was not an option for us.)

4. Feed kids prior to showing if possible- pack snacks to take with you if not

5. Pick up the house every evening: this was the biggest help for me. If I could get my house in somewhat of an order at night, the next day was much easier to deal with. I wasn't having to deal with yesterday's mess AND today's mess while getting ready to leave for a showing.

6. Throw random clothes/towels/rugs in washing machine or dryer: it's amazing the amount of stuff I shoved in my washer and dryer to get it out of the way. A great hiding place!

7. Utilize your car: Keep toys, snacks, whatever in there to make your life easier. That, along with your laundry basket full of random stuff and anything else you've forgotten gets thrown in there. The result: my car constantly looked like I was going for a week-long visit whether we were in it or not.

Enjoy!
